Vaccinize
My Role
UX designer to develop an app for ScreenPass from concept to delivery.
The Problem
individuals want a reliable way to schedule their vaccine appointments online.
The Goal
Design an app that allows users to easily schedule appointments, view upcoming bookings and show individual immunization records.
User Research
Summary
To better understand the user and meet their needs, I conducted interviews and created empathy maps. A primary user group that I identified through my research was busy families who need a quick and easy way to stay up-to-date and have access to their immunization records.
Research also revealed other user problems such as individuals wanting a way to schedule a specific vaccine and seeing which immunization is recommended in certain countries.
Persona: Sarah
Problem Statement
Sarah is a university student who needs a way to book her vaccine appointments online because she is an avid traveller needing a fast and reliable way to stay up-to-date with her immunization records.
Crazy Eights
I completed a crazy eights exercise to come up with ideas for how individuals would navigate through a user flow and and schedule their vaccine appointment using the app.
Wireframes
In the initial design process, accessibility was important to the overall layout. Icons and alt text provides users with an easy experience.
The ability for users to quickly scan appointments was important in order for them to make fast and informed decisions.
Usability Study
Findings
The main goal of this usability study was to find out if the user experience of scheduling a vaccine appointment through the app was easy for users to complete.
Next Steps
Conduct another usability study and ensure all pain points have been resolved in the app.
Gather additional research on ways to further improve the overall experience.
