ScreenPass
My Role
UX designer to develop an app for ScreenPass from concept to delivery.
The Problem
Busy individuals and movie goers want a quick and easy way to purchase their movie tickets online.
The Goal
Design an app for ScreenPass that allows users to easily check showtimes, reserve seats and purchase tickets online.
User Research
Summary
To better understand the user and meet their needs, I conducted interviews and created empathy maps. A primary user group that I identified through my research was avid movie goers that enjoy staying up-to-date on the latest movie releases, who don’t have time to wait at the box office to reserve their tickets.
Research also revealed other user problems such as individuals wanting a way to select specific seats and seeing available showtimes throughout the week.
Persona: Oscar
Problem Statement
Oscar is an accountant who needs a way to purchase movie tickets online because he wants to reserve seats to new releases.
Crazy Eights
I completed a crazy eights exercise to come up with ideas for how individuals would navigate through a user flow and purchase movie tickets using the app.
Wireframes
In the initial design process, accessibility was important to the overall layout. Icons and alt text provides users with an easy experience.
The ability for users to quickly scan showtimes was important in order for them to make fast and informed decisions.
Usability Study
Findings
The main goal of this usability study was to find out if the user experience of purchasing movie tickets through the app is easy for users to complete.
Next Steps
Conduct another usability study and ensure all pain points have been resolved in the app.
Gather additional research on ways to further improve the overall experience.
